| DeniFil™ In Denitrifying Deep Bed Filters (DeniFil™), a large number of denitrifying bacteria grow on the surface of the filter media. When wastewater flows through the filter media layer under the action of gravity after secondary biological treatment, the contained nitrates (NO3-) or nitrites (NO2-) are adsorbed by the biofilm on the surface of the filter media and reduced to nitrogen (N2), which will be released from the wastewater. As a result, the wastewater is denitrified. In addition, granular filter media can capture suspended solids (SS). |
